Join Tunde J.O. and Jax in exploring how we practice embedding choice in our lives, relationships, communities, and work. There are three opportunities with upcoming Intro to the Wheel of Consent® workshops. We’ll thread embodied practice, discussion and play together to provide you with tools to practice speaking up more clearly and consistently in situations spanning from the bedroom to the boardroom.
The Wheel of Consent® enables deep understanding and practice interacting with genuine agency in a world that often demands compliance over consent. You may have heard that consent means “no, means no” - here we’ll practice feeling exactly what our yesses and noes feel like in our bodies and feel like to express.
What you can expect:
A series of practices, play, and some theory to guide you through a felt understanding of the Wheel.
Approved practice and foundations from Dr. Betty Martin and the School of Consent’s official curriculum
An intimate group cared for and led by Jax and Tunde
An intentional, accessible, and inclusive container centering the voices and experiences of marginalized folks of varied experiences.
A platonic* touch-possible container to practice where choice is key and touch is not ever required for participation.
Walk away with tools you can practice, and quite possibly, new community to practice these tools with.
As Black, Queer educators, coaches and facilitators, we utilize the Wheel of Consent as a relational tool to repair the spaces where we haven’t felt we’ve had choice to set boundaries and speak up in the past. We’ve found the tool to have expansive effects in our lives and work and we’re excited to share an introduction to this tool in two communities near to our hearts. Join us online or in-person in Baltimore, MD for this opportunity for personal growth and connection.
Who is this workshop for?
Maybe there’s more to consent and choice, autonomy and agency than you’ve considered - maybe it’s time to slow down and feel more.
This workshop is for anyone who is interested in learning more about themselves and improving the quality of their relationships – personal or professional, with lovers, friends, parents, children or colleagues. No prior experience necessary. For those who have been exposed to the Wheel, and those who haven’t, we believe there are always new levels of awareness to be found.
*Note: This is a fully clothed, non-sexual learning space.
